More about Club 80-90 Syncronauts
Who are Club 80-90 Syncronauts?
The Club 80-90 Syncronauts is a division of Club 80-90 that was created to facilitate Syncropendence - the first UK gathering of T25 Syncros. The Syncronauts is an MSA Registered club. This provides us with reasonably priced public liability for our events. What are the Syncronauts about?
The Club 80-90 Syncronauts was formed to offer Syncro owners the opportunity to go to off-road events and use their Syncro off road. In the spirit of 80-90 membership is free. The only charges are made to recover site and insurance fees, with a small percentage being used to buy essential club equipment such as fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
What can we offer?
If Club 80-90 is the UK's best source of advice and information for T25 owners then the Syncronauts are the best source of advice and information for T25 Syncro owners. Our members have a wealth of experience, from using the Syncro off road (there is a comprehensive guide), through advising how to do Syncro-specific jobs on your van. Our membership means if you have a problem or query someone will be able to help you.
What was Syncropendence?
Held on the 3-4th July, Syncropendence was the first UK gathering of T25 Syncros. The event was designed to help familiarise people with driving their Syncros off-road and also give Syncro owners the opportunity to meet up and discuss their vehicles (and many other things, as the evenings drew out!!)
What happened?
A site in Wales was secured for the event, people showed up mostly during Friday evening, everyone drove around the site and followed pre-defined routes, people got their vehicles stuck, the stuck vehicles were pulled out by other vehicles, there was a cracking barbeque on Saturday night. The site was chosen because it was nice and open and simple for novice 4x4ers to drive, but with some nasty surprises for the unwary. This worked very well and the terrain offered something for everyone.
Will you be holding any more events?
We have already held an event on the Isle of Wight, over the August Bank Holiday. The land chosen was more technical than the Welsh venue, encouraging people to build their skills up. This event also took in a 'green lane' which took the Syncronauts over the chalk downs of the Island. There were also toys to play with like a 'mod-trialer' and a trials motorbike. |
